Genesis' 500 mile delivery to the Proclaimers

13/01/2010
Doug Currie, CEO of Genesis Forwarding Services was in the right place at the right time to assist John Burleigh who designed and manufactures the Burns Bunnet, a unique tartan Tam O'Shanter.

After appearing on the Chris Evans show in December, John heard that the Proclaimers were playing at the O2 Arena that same night, and would be broadcasting live on Chris's final drive time show on Radio 2. He thought he would show his appreciation to the Proclaimers and send them a gift each, a Burns Bunnet!

However, the cost to deliver to the arena within a few hours was too expensive. He decided to go to Glasgow airport to see if he could persuade anyone travelling down to London to deliver the Bunnets. Luckily for John, the first man he asked was none other than Doug Currie, CEO of Genesis Forwarding Services. Doug had heard John on the show and offered to help him immediately. Within minutes, the parcel had been collected and was on a flight to London. It was safely delivered to Chris Evan's PA at 6:30 that evening, free of charge.

For Genesis employees, it's all in a day's work - the Proclaimers walked 500 miles in their song and Genesis will always go miles out of their way to help a manufacturer deliver on time!
